Hello everybody, first of all please accept my apologise for writting in english in that forum but i don't speak german

I am looking for help in germany, i am the owner of a Fordt Transit Westfalia Nugget from 1989.

I absolutly love that Van but during our last trip te gearbox totally broke up.
The van is currently held in a garage 450 Km from our place and we are desperate to find for a gear box that will fit in our Van.

It's easy to find spare Gearbox for Ford transit from that period in France but apparently the Nugget requires a very specific gearbox.
So Westfalia being a German company i'am starting to look directly in your country.

I am looking for some advice or not beingable to speak german its relatively difficult to browse the web.

I was wonderring if you know guys some good website that could help us finding that gearbox.

Once again sorry for that english post i hope someone could help us in our research

Oh i am currently missing all technical infos as all documents are held by the garage where the Van is but i have requested more info on the specific model but the engine if i well remember is a Diesel 1.9l and its a 5 gear gearbox

Thank you for your reply, yes i admit this is a mystery as well here, it's frustrating to struggle to find a gearbox for a so popular ford transit.
But i guess the garage is right and has no interest in saying all the gearboxes he found were not compatible.

As i said maybe that was still different chain assembly between germany and france... i really have no idea and as the van is now stuck 450 km from me it's quite difficult to have a visual understanding of the situation.

I wrote to the garage and asked for detailed pictures of the broken gearbox... i hope i'll have them next week.

I know I'm a little late. But I read this just ago. If you still have no solution till now, you can contact Motomobil . They are one of the famoust specialists for old Ford cars.
