Firstly, a big apology that I am posting in English, unfortunately I can’t speak German.

I am a UK Nugget Plus owner after importing a new one from a German dealer in 2018.
We love it - we use it for holidays in the EU and are hoping you will still let us in after stupid Brexit!

We have a problem with the gas stove at the moment. We have started getting only a very low flame.
We have changed the gas canister so know it is full. We thought it might be a broken regulator but recently when opening the spin-on black gas lid the flames came on powerful again. We have to turn the gas off at the valve under the sink area to use Eurotunnel so wondered if this was causing a air blockage.

Any ideas on how to get a reliable full power gas flame would be much appreciated.

Okay, the canister is new, full.
Do you have the problem on both stoves?
So you can do some things to check for dirt in the hose.
Close the canister, disconnect the regulator and take of the hose.
Then you can disconnect it on the steel pipe.
Now you can blow some air through, when it goes easy there is one error less.
It is possible to that the regulator itselve has a damage.
I do'nt know if you can disconnect the pipe on the stove so you can blow some air backwards through the pipes.
In worst case you have to disconnect the pipes on the valve to and try to get air through.
But first I would try a new regulator.
Sometimes it is broken.

Hi, many thanks for your replies and suggestions.
The hose is not trapped or bent and yes it is both burners.
I will try blowing air trough the pipes when I am home, but I suspect it is a regulator problem as sometimes the flame is strong and sometimes very weak. If it was a blockage it would likely be constant low flame I guess.
The strange thing is the flame changing when the black lid is fitted/removed. Possibly it is moving the regulator (it is a tight fit with the taller canister). Possibly it is suddenly getting some air and this is helping? I know the lid I supposed to be kept closed for safety. Very strange. I think I will order a new regulator when home and see if this improves things. It has only had light use for 2 years so a failure would be surprising right?

Hi Greg,
maybe it is not the first regulator and so it can be the false one.
Are you the first owner?
For the Nugget there are two kind of regulators.
One for bevor 2014 and one for after 2014.
You can have a look at the picture in thread 30.

Hi Greg,
is the the lid not pressing on the hose or the gas bottle?
Check the hose doubble to make sure that the gas bottle does not press against the hose.
I remember during my Nugget-briefing that the gas cartridge can press the hose a little, then the installation must be checked.
There must be a relationship between the lid and the gas bottle / hose if the issue appears.

Yes the van was new 2018 and we are the first owners. The regulator does look like the one in the tread. The details of mine are: GOK Art-no: 0128005 Typ: EN61
Do these break commonly?
We are getting no gas at all now. Have new full (smaller) canister and it doesn’t work with that either.
I think I will order a new regulator when back home.

Hi Ingo,
I’ve just finished double checking the hose and can confirm is it not trapped or pressed at all. The foam wedge helps me keep the bottle away from the hose.
Sometimes, with the bigger canister, when I close the lid it catches slightly on the regulator and pushes the regulator down a few mm.
I have just installed the smaller canister which means the regulator sits down well away from the lid and still no luck. Actually we have no flame at all now.
We have a small outdoor stove with us so are using that for cooking.
When I get home I think I will order a replacement regulator.

Welcome in the Nuggetforum, it works quite well in englisch-"Kauderwelsh" .....

2012, I had exactly the same symptoms (changing flame from nerly nothing til half power....on both burning points) in my first Nuggets Kitchen (in its 2nd year too).

Replacing the regulator solved this!


There was a wet muddy "pudding" inside the screw connection, i supposed it closed the regulator inside and may result from condensation-water in the bottle ore somwhere in the gas system.... .....
(before: ..... less gas in the bottle over a longer wintertime without using gas)

Since this, I replace (or remove) the bottle before a longer "Winterpause" or use it once in a way.
