Hi all,

I just returned from the Apls, and unfortunately Eberspaecher D4S was overheated few times (F12 and F13).
I write \"unfortunately\", because have installed D4 heater (not D4S) in my second self made camper and this one is running well at those altitudes of 2 000 m and more without any adjustiong.
I visit same places for 5 years so can compare.
This is probably caused because D4S has ducting diamether of 75 mm insted of 90 mm of D4.
Therefore have a problem with adjusting the heater for higher altitudes.

Basically there is not problem to adapt heater this way, but is necessary to know which way to go.

Since 2011 or so, all main control units of Aitronic heaters are supplied with \"H-kit\" which means that only high altitude compansator is needed to add to the heating system.
Unfortunately I´m not able to say on 100% from the ducplicate label if my D4S has this H-kit or no.
This label does not contain even manufacture date, so I do not trust.
I will disassembly the heater to find the original label to be sure, but waiting for advices from forum first.

If I would have H-kit heater ready, then part number 221000332200 resolves my problem and I can go again.
No must to go to German Ford or to Westafalia service plant.

If my D4S has no H-kit, the situation is much more complicated...

There are only two Eberspaecher options ....
1. Kit P/N: 24 0222 00 00 00 (Contains high altitude fuel pump) - not avaiable in my country, and I would say not avaiable anywhere, because no more produced, but Westfalia probably has in stock
2. kit P/N: 20 2900 70 00 07 (Contains high altitude compensator, no extra fuel pump needed) - same as above
I have to go to Westfalia service for fuel pump.

My siuation is more complicated because I'm Czech, Czech Ford doesn't offer Nugget therefore nobody knows what to do.

Czech Eberspaecher can help only if my D4S has H-kit....

Is here anybody to hepl about H-kit in my Nugget on similar age van ???

My Nugget or let say my Ford was built in 17.8.2011.
I would add 3 months for Westfalia conversion.
I bought my Nugget new in last week of March 2012.
There is teoretically chance for H-kit, but I would expect older version from Westfalia stock ....

Ich bin gerade von der Apls, und leider Eberspaecher D4S wurde einige Male überhitzt (F12 und F13).
Ich schreibe \"leider\", weil haben D4 Heizer (nicht D4S) in meinem zweiten selbstgebauten Wohnmobil und diese läuft gut in diesen Höhen von 2 000 m und mehr ohne adjustiong installiert.

Leider bin ich nicht in der Lage, auf 100% aus dem ducplicate Label sagen, wenn mein D4S hat diese H-Kit oder nicht.
Dieses Etikett enthält nicht selbst herstellen Datum, so dass ich nicht vertrauen.
Ich werde Demontage der Heizung zu finden, die Original-Etikett sicher zu sein, aber warten Ratschläge von forum ersten.

Müsste ich H-kit Heizung fertig, dann Teilenummer 221000332200 löst mein Problem und ich kann wieder gehen.
Kein Muss, um den deutschen Ford oder Westafalia Serviceshop gehen.

Wenn meine D4S hat keine H-Kit ist die Situation viel komplizierter ...

Es gibt nur zwei Eberspaecher Optionen ....

Mein Nugget oder lassen Sie sagen, mein Ford in 2011.08.17 gebaut wurde.
Ich würde 3 Monate für Westfalia Konvertierung hinzuzufügen.
Ich kaufte meine Nugget neu in der letzten Woche im März 2012.
Es gibt teoretically Chance für H-Kit, aber ich würde ältere Version von Westfalia Lager erwarten ....

Sie können sehen, das Foto von Duplikat-Label, wenn es hepls ....

thank you very much for your advice.
Espar is my source of very strongly protected information by Eberspaecher too.
Because I built my recent camper by my self, I used exactely this site for know how many years .... I´m very happy for, because it looks as only English full information site about Eberspaecher heaters.

Back to my problem ....

Unfortunately I agree with you.
I´m still waiting for reply by Westfalia, but I´m not sure if my waiting will be answered.

Within one week I try to diassembly the heater to see original label to bee sure about date of manufacture.

There is an option to change main control unit of DS4 (let say rebuilt to DS4 with H-kit, but the future of such operation is not clear, because of some special settings for command centre and proper programming needed. Such operation costs about 500 EUR here at my home.

If I would need to go to Rheda, I spend two days on the highway, at least one day in Rheda, I expect to pay about 300 EUR for second fuel pump set + some work expences. I´m afraid that to buy new DS4 already with H-kit will be not so much more expensive then this Rheda trip.... and of cause, I can use new heater in some other of my cars.

Let you know if future, how much my monhtly trips to the Alps will cost ...
